Listed on the National Register
of Historic Places, here are just a few of the highlights:
- Animal Forest
- a 22-acre zoo home to animals the original settlers encountered,
including pumas, bison, alligators, black bears, otters,
bobcars and wolves.
- The Adventure
- A life-size reproduction of a typical trading ship of
the 17th century, docked on Old Town Creek. The Adventure
is under re-construction on-site and is expected to nbe
complete sometime in 2007.
- Experimental Crop
Garden - Features plants the Lords Proprietors,
the colony's British investors, instructed the settlers
to investigate, including indigo, rice, sugar cane and cotton.
- Trails - Walk or bike along the marsh
or through the 80 acres of English park-style gardens, featuring
thousands of azaleas, camelias and live oaks, several hundred
years old.
- Legare-Waring
House - The house and surrounding gardens are
beautiful reminders of Charles Towne Landing's post colonial
history. This former residence of Old Town Plantation's
owners is now available for event rentals. More more information

An admission fee applies. Organized groups may be eligible
for group rates. Education programs
may also be scheduled in advance.
